Adopt a Watermelon Dog

We have multiple locations for our dogs. Please note the location on each dog's profile.

  • Large breed dogs can be seen at the Main Ranch in Rio Rancho.

  • Medium and small dogs are mainly available at our Cottonwood Mall Going to the Dogs (and Cats) Adoption Center and PetSmart locations on the weekends


Main Ranch
3251 Westphalia Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87144 (If using GPS please use "V. Sue Cleveland High School" as your destination)​

Adoptions and Ranch tours are available Wednesday through Sunday from 11am to 3pm. We suggest arriving no later than 2pm as we stop showing at 3pm. We are in northern Rio Rancho, please plan accordingly so that you will have plenty of time to socialize with the animals. We look forward to seeing you!

Locations noted as: Lower Kennels, Dog Intake, Dog Cottage are located at the main Ranch in Rio Rancho.

Due to the high volume of interest in adoption, please allow 24 hours for a response. 

Please note the Ranch is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Inquiries during those days will be returned on Wednesday. 

Please consider bringing your family dog(s) with you for a meet and greet!

Cottonwood Mall- ABQ  Going to the Dogs Adoption Center & Resale Store

10000 Coors Bypass NW, ABQ NM 87114 (Upper Level; use the entrance across from Texas Roadhouse)​

Dogs and Cats can be viewed at this location during open hours. Please email with specific questions about particular dogs.  

Hours: Monday- Saturday 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Sunday 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm​

Foster Care
These animals are cared for in foster homes. To get information on meeting a dog in this program
please​ email our Canine Foster Care Coordinator.
