Your dog(s) must be in good health with current vaccinations complete with verifiable shot records

• Upon approval of surrender, medical records must be submitted at least 48 hours prior to the physical surrender. ​

• We do not accept aggressive, feral or animals in poor health

• Please note, we are a limited admission facility and can only accept animals based on space availability

• All surrenders must be pre-coordinated by email. 

• There is a surrender fee to cover the partial cost of care and placement of your pet (see below).

 

SURRENDER FEES 

Surrender fees help cover the cost of food, care, staffing and the guaranteed placement of your pet, plus any medical care that may be required.

 

The below listed fees apply to animals in good medical condition. If the animal is unsterilized, there will be an additional $50 fee to cover the cost of surgery. Medical concerns will be handed on a case by case basis. 

 

• Small Breed (under 25 pounds) 

  • 5 Years Old and Under- $185

    • Additional $25 if dog is under a year old to include a parvo test

  • 6 Years old to 10 Years- $250

  • Over 10 years old- Perpetual Care

• Medium/Large Breed (over 25 pounds) 

  • 5 Years old and Under- $200

    • Additional $25 if dog is under a year old to include a parvo test 

  • 6 Years old to 10 Years-$350

  • Over 10 years old- Perpetual Care

• $250 Mother with Litter (up to 4 puppies)

• * $25 for each additional littermate over 4

• Perpetual Care Program- Dog will live the rest of their lives at the ranch.- $5,000. Compare to other large no kill animal shelters with fees ranging anywhere from $10,000 to $30,000.

WHERE TO SURRENDER

Surrenders are accepted at our main facility in Rio Rancho, and only after approval. No animals may be surrendered at the Mobile Adoption locations or Resale Stores. All surrenders are first approved after emailing the Surrender Team, and receiving an appointment. 

 

STEP 1: EMAIL YOUR REQUEST

For dogs over 25 pounds please email wmrsurrender@gmail.com 

For dogs under 25 pounds please email surrendergttd@gmail.com with the following information:

-Is your dog up to date on vaccinations? 

-Is your dog spayed/neutered? 

-Does your dog have any behavioral issues of note? (ie. dog friendly, cat friendly, child friendly)

-Does your dog have any pre-existing medical conditions?

-What is your dog's breed?

-What is your dog's age? 

-What is the reason for surrender?
