VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES

Some tips for volunteering at the Main Campus Ranch in Rio Rancho.

Once you have attended a Saturday morning Volunteer Orientation, we can't wait for you to get started at the Ranch. We have so many opportunities! Whether you prefer walking dogs, or socializing with the cats and kittens in the Cattery, we are so excited you will be joining us!

The Ranch is an outdoor/indoor facility. As there are animals of all sizes, ages and temperaments on the Ranch, we ask that you please check in with the Ranch Team when you arrive.

For the safety of the animals, volunteers and staff, we have the following guidelines for our volunteers:

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU

  • Great Attitude!! And a Smile!!

  • Bottled Water (hydration is important!)

  • Snacks (especially if you will be at the Ranch a good amount of time)

  • Sunscreen (especially during the summer)

DRESS CODE

  • No Short Shorts (they must be mid thigh length)

  • Close Toed Shoes (No Flip Flops/No Sandals/No Ugg Style Boots)

  • No see through or revealing clothing

  • T-shirt style shirts are recommended

  • Dress in layers during the cooler months

  • Bring sunscreen!

WHAT TO LEAVE AT HOME

  • Treats (our dogs are on diets and are well fed)

  • Electronic Devices (we have plenty to keep you busy!)

  • No Ear Buds/Headphones- this is for your safety and the animals.
